We feel though, that this is such a basic step that any business owner or marketing professional that can spare a couple hours of their time (or less, more than likely less), should do.

This video mentions that you need to claim your business first. We're unable to show that in the video but it's pretty easy as well. Just create your Google My Business account, from your dashboard, click on "add location". Go through the steps of setting up and claiming your listing. The very last step will require you to wait for a mail from Google with a code. Once you've confirmed the location however, this video will walk you through everything else you need to know.
